Greetings, foul friends!

Well, here we are, once again, in the twilight of the year. It’s traditional at this point in the year to ask where it went and marvel at how quickly time passes. But, when you’re thousands of years old, as many of the Lodge’s inhabitants are, this means very little. Centuries are a mere blink of an eye to us. The only slight worry we have with the passage of time is that we still have a library book from 1783, and if they ever decide to hunt us down for the late fees, we’ll have to sell the business to square it off.

November News 2025

Greetings, foul friends!

We must begin this month’s journal entry on a dour note (so nothing new there). Halloween has been and gone, so at the time of writing, it’ll be over 360 of your Earth days before we can revel in all things horrible without fear of recrimination. Who’s cutting onions over there?

October News 2025

Greetings, foul friends!

The best time of the year is here! Yes, the Spooky Season is finally upon us, and we couldn’t be happier. That’s not strictly true, as we hate being happy, but you know what we mean…

September News 2025

Greetings, foul friends!

September is upon us once again, which means that Autumn is officially here, and it’s less than 2 full moon cycles until Halloween. As you can imagine, with the vast majority of the Black Lodge staff either being undead, a creature of the night, not of this planet, or from a different ethereal plane, we look forward to this time of year immensely.

August News 2025

Greetings, foul friends!

2025 is chugging along nicely – like an unstoppable possessed train on an express track to hell – and it won’t be long until it’s officially autumn, or Fall if you’re American. (Fall on what? A hidden bear trap? A rotting corpse deep in the woods? We approve of either, to be honest).

July News 2025

Greetings, foul friends!

Now that we’re into the second half of the year, it only seems fitting that we start preparing for Halloween. Forget your spring lambs and flowers in bloom; think morbidity, decay, and extended darkness. Actually, think pumpkins, comfy sweaters, and sipping Black Lodge Potions in front of a roaring fire.

Oh, how we love this time of year!

Ghosts moving bottles of gin in the Black Lodge Potions distillery

Greetings, foul friends!

It’s been a busy month for us, moving a menagerie of distilling equipment, bottles, ingredients, demons, ghosts, and other unspeakable things into the new distillery. As any of you who have moved home will know, it’s not a task you’d wish on your worst enemy while it’s going on, but once you’re in the new place and settled, it’s completely worth it.

We were running behind a little pace, so we did wish it on our worst enemy (we say wish; it was more of a trance spell, really), and Friar Castigan proved to be most helpful, moving boxes at a speed that would belie someone of his advanced years. He’s currently sleeping off the trance inside a very hungry carnivorous Venus Fly Trap we keep in the atrium. Serves him right for trying to steal our Craft Gin recipe 340 years ago.

Not that we hold a grudge, you understand…

Anyway, with all this extra room in the distillery, we should probably find something to fill it with.

A new taste research department, perhaps?

What do you think?

Be sure to tell us when you see us next.

Speaking of which…

FOOD FESTIVALS and MARKETS

That’s right, meat bags; once again we’re loading up the hearse and hitting the unmarked roads to bring you a veritable smorgasbord of gin-related wonders. You lucky lot! All these events are free to attend, and we’re confident that once you try our delicious gin flavours, you’ll be going home with a loud clinking sound coming from your shopping bags.

Bring the family with you. We’ll have werewolves and snakes for the kids to play with, so you’ll all have a wonderful day out.  Here are the all-important dates you’ll need:

Trentham Gardens on Saturday the 15th

Nuneaton Artisan Market on Sunday the 16th

Denby Pottery Village on Sunday the 23rd

Leamington Spa Covent Gardens on Sunday the 30th

We look forward to seeing you there!

A Leprechaun celebrating Saint Patrick's Day

  1. PATRICK’S DAY (17TH)

So, it’s St. Patrick’s Day again. Cue the obligatory bleating about how you have to drink Guinness on the 17th, whether you’re Irish or not. How disgustingly boring and predictable. If we have to talk about The Black Stuff, then we suggest you try a Black Velvet, which is Prosecco and that dark, brooding brew, intertwined. But the true alchemy? Adding just a whisper of gin. Not just any gin, mind you. Black Lodge Potions gin. The kind that slithers down your throat, leaving a trail of delicious damnation. It transforms a mere drink into a pact. A pact with pleasure, with the forbidden. Forget their watery traditions. Indulge in something… sinful.

You know you want to, flesh creature!

Head over to The Spirit Shop to stock up on your favourite flavour now.

Mummy Skeletons celebrating Mother's Day

MOTHER’S DAY (30TH)

We have to admit that we completely misunderstood this human ritual. We saw ‘mother’s’ and thought someone had misspelled ‘mummy’s.’ As a result, we now have lots of spare bandages, canopic jars, ointments, incense, and black cats cluttering up the new distillery.

If you want to treat your own ‘Mummy’ to something to die for on Mother’s Day, then might we humbly recommend a multi-award-winning handcrafted gin or two? If you’d also like a roll of bandage to wrap it up in, then just let us know. We have LOTS to spare…

Venus Fly Trap with multiple heads

UNTIL NEXT TIME…

Well, mortals, that about wraps things up for another month. It appears that Friar Castigan is so repulsive that not even the Venus Fly Trap wants anything to do with him. She’s currently vomiting his body parts up all over the atrium floor, so we’d better go and clean it up. We wouldn’t want someone to get hurt, now, would we?

We’ll be back next month with more dark tales, so until then,

Stay spooky,

Brother G and Brother T
